OK.. Here is one reason being a broker sucks

Being a Customs Broker, our job performance and hence customer satisfaction is mainly dependent on the performance of a governmental agency. so, we have little control over our job performance.

Broker sends entry- Customs releases entry- broker off the hook - importer hopefully doesn't complain and may be thankful if having a good day

Broker sends entry- Customs loses entry- bad broker, all broker's fault- importer pissed at broker

Broker sends entry- Customs requests exam- exam is expensive- broker is the unlucky messenger- pissed off importer whine, bitch, complain at broker, and sometimes stiffs broker.

Tell me this is a great job!

I spent time, money, and life obtaining a license and gaining experience only to be rewarded with pink slips for just trying to ask a few simple questions to clarify information I read with respect to Customs transactions and daily work. Especially frustrating when an employer states that there are no stupid questions then fires you for a perceived lack of knowledge. I guess one is supposed to be blessed with this information at birth. It isn't rocket science but they sure try to pretend it is.
